Network Coordination Centre RIPE (NCC) was formed by RIPE community as the world’s first Regional Internet Registry (RIR) in April, 1992.

Network Coordination Centre RIPE (NCC) was formed by RIPE community as the world’s first Regional Internet Registry (RIR) in April, 1992. Today, one of its original tasks remains the provision of unique Internet resources and related services. Since its inception, the RIPE NCC has proved capable of adapting to changing industry requirements and the needs of its members. As a result, it has performed many activities for the benefit of its members, the RIPE community and the Internet community as a whole. Over the last three years, the RIPE NCC, in collaboration with a range of industry partners including the other RIRs, has been extensively involved in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). RIPE NCC LIR Portal allows LIRs (Local Internet Registry) to access RIPE services through a web interface. LIR Portal lets you manage your registry data and make queries and updates. Features of the LIR Portal allow you to:
- Submit IPv4, IPv6 and AS Number request forms
- Request approval and have an assignment automatically registered in the RIPE Whois Database
- Update certain attribute values in allocation object
- View and edit your LIR contact and address information
- View billing information
- View IP and AS resources
- View status of open tickets
- View the news and events board
